History
The history of Pedershaab Concrete Technologies A/S dates back to 1877 when blacksmith Peder Nielsen started his first company in the Northern part of Denmark. Years later, in 1915, all activities regarding the production of concrete machines were consolidated in a separate company under the name of A/S Pedershaab Cementindustri Maskinfabrik.
The Nielsen family were the top management through three generations until 1972 when the FLS Group, a major Danish industrial player, took over the majority of the shares. In 1981, the remaining shares were sold to the FLS Group and the company continued first under the name of Pedershaab Maskinfabrik A/S and later simply as Pedershaab A/S.
Over the years, the core business became steadily more oriented towards the manufacturing of drycast concrete machinery and the development of concrete technology. In 1948, the VIHY principle was invented. VIHY indicates that the concrete is consolidated by means of Vibration and Hydraulic pressure. Today, this principle is still fundamental for quality and economy in precast concrete manufacturing and the VIHY pipe machines remain our core business.
In 2003, a complete supplement to the Pedershaab pipe machine range was obtained through the merger with Betodan, a complete supplier of machines and equipment for producing precast concrete products including manhole systems. Later the same year, the FLS Group sold a major part of their assets in Pedershaab, including the name, to CTI, Inc. CTI, Inc. is a major distributor of European precast concrete machinery and technology in the US and Latin America and forms a solid base for new development and continued growth for Pedershaab Concrete Technologies A/S.
In 2008 Pedershaab Concrete Technologies A/S and Hawkeye Group are merged and form a new single company HawkeyePedershaab.
The combination of Hawkeye and Pedershaab equipment together under a single company will offer significant geographical, technological, and product benefits to the producers of pipe and manhole products worldwide.
Customers will now have a choice of technologies, integrated solutions, and brands for their capital equipment purchases. A global presence with manufacturing, sales an service worldwide offers timely responses to customer needs.
The combined companies will be led by Richard Shoemaker as President & CEO.
